Rainbow is my Favorite Color

Isn't rainbow everybody's favourite colour? It can't help but put a smile on your face...I know it does mine. This was a super easy card to create with the help of a few inks, a stencil and a fun greeting from a digital stamp set. The other day I had featured a beautiful gold foiled card made with a digital image from gracielliedesign and this sentiment is from another set from her. 

To create this card I started by choosing 6 distress inks that would make a perfect rainbow (okay well my first step was to actually google the proper order of the colours in the rainbow, but we will pretend I already knew that). I trimmed down a piece of mixed media paper, added my sunburst stencil and started adding the inks with my blending brushes. I find that for ink blending, mixed media paper or a paper meant for watercolours are the perfect base. The inks went on like butter...so smooth and effortlessly. I tell ya...try it on this type of paper, it's a game changer! Once I was happy with my rainbow I removed the stencil and cleaned off the inks. 

For the sentiment I used a 2.25" circle die...it was the perfect size for it! Next I foiled the sentiment in black. The black is more shiny compared to other foils, which are usually more of a metallic. I would have loved to have maybe done it in a rainbow, but I don't have any (note to self to get some rainbow foil). All that was left was to use some foam tape to pop it all up on my white card base and add a few iridescent sequins. The sequins are a bit more subtle and they kind blend into the colours, but I wanted the rainbow background to be the star of the show here.
