Hello and welcome back crafty friends! Today it is a cool, grey and rainy day ( I love this kind of weather), so what better day than to stay in and get crafty! Today is a great day as it is release day over at RachelVassDesigns and it is an exciting one, as she has 4 new beautiful designs to share with you all! There is also an Instagram hop going on with the rest of the design team, where you have the chance to win the entire release, so head on over to Instagram to get more info and enter for your chance to get it all for free! Today I am sharing the first of 4 cards I made with this release, so shall we get right to it?!
I created this card using the Gratitude Digital Stamp set. It is filled a beautiful floral swag and some scripty sentiments to go along with it. I decided to do a bit of very simple watercolouring with this image. It seems like forever since I picked up my paints and yes, I am a bit rusty with them...I definitely need to practice more and show them some love. First I printed out the image and sentiment on a piece of Canson 140 lb watercolour paper and painted them using a mix of pink, coral and greens using the Altenew 36 pan set and a bit of gold metallic in the middle of the flowers.
After it was all dry I trimmed it down to 4"x5.25", so it was 1/4" smaller than my cardbase. I added some paint flecks to the panel using the same gold metallic as on the flowers and some black as well. I then set that aside to allow it time to dry. Once it was all dry and good to go I popped it up on my cardbase using some white craft foam and added the finishing touches of some clear dew drops just to add a wee something more to it, while still keeping it simple.
And that's it! I didn't to do too much more to it, as I wanted the beautiful floral swag to be the main focus of it. I hope you have enjoyed my card for today just as much as I enjoyed creating it. I will for sure be picking up my watercolours again in the very near future.
Be sure to head on over to Rachel's Etsy shop to check out all the new releases for November, where all of her digital stamps are 20% off right now until November 8, so head on over there and grab some beautiful images! One of the great thing about digital stamps is that you don't have to wait for them to get shipped to you, as you are able to download them almost instantly. So you can have some beautiful cards made within no time! I'll be sharing more cards from this release soon, so don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out on any of them.
