Altenew July 2022 Summer Sunshine Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hi friends!  Today we are celebrating the new Summer Sunshine Collection release from Altenew and to go along with it we have a fun and fabulous blog hop that is filled with so much incredible inspiration for you.  Be sure to read on for lots of inspiration featuring products from the new collection.  You can head on over to check out the full collection now or hop along with us for all the inspiration and to see the many ways that the products have been used.

Captivating Blooms

The Captivating Blooms stamp set is a gorgeous large floral that has a beautiful delicateness to it.  Although it is large enough to cover your card front, I wanted to feature this coming off the side and thought it would be perfect to just pair with a bit of soft ink blending, so as not to take away from this beauty!

This stamp set comes with a very handy coordinating stencil.  The matching stencils are really quite practical to have, as they make colouring in the images quick and easy...perfect for those days that you want to create something magical, but don't want to get out all of your markers or pencils. I love how the soft blue ink blending really helps to highlight the florals. To make the image pop even more I fussy cut it, which I am not a big fan of....but tbh, this image was really quite easy to cut out.

Linear Life Tropical Garden

The Linear Life Stamp Set is filled with tropical flowers...think hibiscus and plumerias.  Not only is there a stamp and matching die, but there is also a hot foil plate that coordinates perfectly with it all!  I just adore the simplicity of the images in this set and for my card I wanted to highlight the simplicity of it even more, but still have that wow factor.  I used the hot foil plates to add that tropical feeling colour via some rainbow hot foil to the flowers and leaves.  I added a bit of colour to the center of the flowers and leaves using the stamps and then just simply cut them out.
I added a bit of soft ink blending in the middle to add that kind of calming effect (I'm pretending that it's the ocean lol) and softly fading away on the one side.
I really love how simple these look, but the rainbow foiling definitely makes them not so simple.

Mosaic Diamonds

The Mosaic Diamonds stamp set is a fabulous background stamp.  I used it in 2 different ways, giving it a completely different look for each.  For the first card I wanted to use it more in a tone on tone look and make it more subtle.  I simply stamped it using a watermark ink (the kind you would use for heat embossing) and paired it with some gold heat embossed flowers from the Hibiscus Bouquet Stamp Set.  Using large background stamps in a tone on tone way like above, makes them more of a subtle look.

For my second card I wanted the Mosaic Diamonds stamp to be the star here, so I paired it with 3 different colours of ink and spritzed them with some water before stamping it on watercolour cardstock.  By spritzing with water before, it makes the colours more subtle and helps to blend the 3 colours together where they meet.  I love how vibrant the colours are but they still have that softness to them.  I paired it with a pop of black using the Fine Frames Cover Die and and heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set.  I love the pop of black against it all!
This stamp set is really perfect, whether it fades to the background like the first example or takes all the attention like above.

Monstera Frame 3D Embossing Folder

As the name suggests, the Monstera Frame 3D Embossing Folder frames your card front beautifully!  I simply paired this with some light green ink blending before running it through the folder and then ran over the embossed leaves with a heat embossing ink pad.  I then added a mixed green and gold embossing powder it, to kind of mimic the green of the monstera leaves.  I love how beautifully the large leaves are highlighted, by not only the dimension you get from the folder but also bringing it out with the use of the powder.  It didn't need much more than a sentiment in the middle from the Monsteras and Quotes Stamp Set.

Monsteras and Quotes

To finish it off we have the Monsteras and Quotes Stamp, Simple Colouring Stencil and coordinating die.  For this I decided to keep it clean and simple, to highlight the gorgeous large monstera leaves.  I stamped out a few and used the matching stencil to add some colour to them and simply placed them in the middle under a diecut circle with one of the sentiments stamped in black. I did a bit of light green ink blending under the circle to highlight it all and appear as if they are glowing from within.  This stamp set has the most beautiful quotes in it...perfect for when you don't quite have the right words.

There is so much more to this fabulous and very summery release.  Altenew doesn't disappoint, as usual!

I love all your cards, they are just so beautiful. The captivating blooms stamp and stencils are one of my favorites in this release. I really love what you did with the mosaic diamonds background stamp. Very impressive. I love how when paired with the black cardstock it could be a masculine card too.

    1. Thank you Kathy! Tbh...I had completely forgotten about the tone on tone technique until I saw this stamp. It is a great way to use a big background stamp without it overpowering what you are making.
