Altenew September 2022 Enchanted Winter Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hey friends...it`s new release day over at Altenew and we have a fabulous as always blog hop to help to celebrate! You can shop the entire release here....it`s a pretty amazing release! This release is filled with some absolutely gorgeous 3D embossing folders and stencils....let`s get started!

Berried Cotoneaster

I love the beautiful simplicty of the Berried Cotoneaster folder! I did some simple ink blending on kraft cardstock by masking off an area and added white splatters before removing the masking. Once it was dry I removed the masking tape and ran it through the embossing folder and then ran a white pigment ink pad over the embossed image within the ink blended area, to further highlight the image. I really love how soft this turned out!

Checkered Squares

I love how fun the Checkered Squares 3D Embossing Folder is and the depth you get from it! For this I simply adhered a piece of vellum to some cardstock and ran it through the folder. I love how the squares are really highlighted on the metallic gold circles! All it needed was a simple sentiment with a bit of black for that pop and that was it. I find that with 3D embossing folders you really don`t need much for them. Sometimes simple is best!

Intricate Tiles

For the Intricate Tiles 3D Embossing Folder I wanted to do something a bit more fun, so I took some paint chips that I had in muted neutral tones and cut them down to strips and then adhered them to a piece of cardstock to give an ombre look. It was then put through the embossing folder. I took a piece of sanding paper and went over the embossed areas lightly to expose some of the white underneath and give it an imperfect look and then an ink pad was lightly ran over the raised image to make it stand out even more.

Pine Forest

For the beautiful Pine Forest 3D Embossing Folder I had an idea in my head from the moment I saw it, I just stepped it up a notch. I ran a piece of the brushed gold metallic cardstock thruogh the embossing folder. And while that was absolutely perfect as is, I wanted to add another level to it. So I took some sanding paper and went over the entire embossed image to remove the top layer, thus exposing the silver underneath it. How amazing does that look! Who says you can`t mix metals lol. But just a note if you do this...it makes quite a mess lol. I added some simple white splatters and a sentiment with a bit of silver sparkle peeking out and that was it. I love the look of the gold and silver together!

Poinsettia Cluster

Who doesn`t love a classic poinsettia for the holidays! The Poinsettia Cluster Embossing Folder is absolutely beautiful and perfect for making quick and gorgeous Christmas cards. I ran a piece of metallic cardstock through the folder and then added many layers of ink and metallic wax to it, in shades of deep greens, teal, gold and a bit of burgundy for the berries. Lots of paint flecks in gold and black were added as well as a gold heat embossed sentiment.

Starry Patterns

Okay now this is my fave! For the Starry Patterns Embossing Folder I ran a piece of the brushed silver cardtsock through the folder. Then to really make it pop I again used a piece of ssanding paper to rough up the raised areas a bit and then went over that with a black ink pad. A simple but large sentiment was added as that was all it needed. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out! It reminds me of those decorative metallic tiles. You know the ones that people put in their kitchens on their walls or ceilimgs....love this!
